There is a difference between AI and Machine Learning

26 July 2017

It’s time to make a distinction between AI and machine learning.

They are two terms that are increasingly used and it’s important that people in general and specifically the industry professionals understand that there is a difference between the two.

AI is the broader concept of machines which act intelligently in carrying out specific tasks.
Machine learning recognizes patterns and uses algorithms based on collected data to learn how to solve specific, and narrow tasks. You need AI engineers to build the smart machine and you need machine learning experts to feed the AI with information and tools that enables the machine it to act intelligently. AI is driving the car, machine learning recognises the car in front.

Interesting, huh?
